Washington, D.C. – In a significant move to foster innovation in clean energy, the Department of Energy’s Office of Technology Transitions announced $70,000 in awards to top-performing startups and an incubator through the 2024 EPIC Prize Collaboration Event. The winning teams showcased groundbreaking technologies and business strategies, highlighting their potential to drive the clean energy transition. Following their presentations at the White House, the startups also engaged with Congressional representatives, underscoring the broader impact of the EPIC initiative.
Cache Energy, the first-place winner, received $30,000 for its innovative long-duration energy storage solution. This non-toxic, non-flammable, and fire-retardant solid fuel can be used in various industrial, commercial, and residential applications. In addition to the EPIC award, Cache Energy is partnering with Halliburton Labs to scale their technology, leveraging Halliburton’s extensive resources and expertise to accelerate market readiness and deployment.
